Holy Eucharist teachings - The Work of God Apostolate

26  Saint  Ignatius of Antioch

"I hunger for the bread of God, the flesh of Jesus Christ ...; I long to drink of his blood, the gift of unending love."

180  Fathers of the Church -  Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and Martyr

"I no longer take pleasure in perishable food or in the delights of this world. I want only God's bread, which is the Flesh of Jesus Christ, formed of the seed of David, and for drink I crave His Blood which is love that cannot perish."

181  Fathers of the Church -  Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and Martyr

"Be careful, therefore, to take part only in the one Eucharist; for there is only one Flesh of our Lord Jesus Christ and one cup to unite us with His Blood."

182  Fathers of the Church -  Ignatius of Antioch, Bishop and Martyr

"I am God's wheat and shall be ground by their teeth so that I may become Christ's pure bread."

451  Fathers of the Church -  St. Ignatius of Antioch

Letter to the Smyrnaeans 7, 1 (C. 110 AD):
"They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in His goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes."

536  Fathers of the Church -  St Ignatius of Antioch (110 A.D.)

"Come together in common, one and all without exception in charity, in one faith and in one Jesus Christ, who is of the race of David according to the flesh, the son of man, and the Son of God, so that with undivided mind you may obey the bishop and the priests, and break one Bread which is the medicine of immortality and the antidote against death, enabling us to live forever in Jesus Christ."
