| Our Lord Jesus - Christ
		the King

We call Jesus Christ the King because He Himself
declared that He was a King, as He was questioned by Pilate. (John
18:37) Pilate asked him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say
that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the
world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth
		listens to my voice."
In the Old Testament King David was a great king, a
model for the coming of Christ, He was anointed King and ruled the
people of God, but the Lord was yet to send His anointed Son to establish a
		Kingdom that would last forever.
Psalm 29:10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;the LORD sits enthroned as king forever.
Psalm 110:4 The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind, "You are a
priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."

The Kingship of Our Lord comes directly from God the
Father who has given power to his anointed to rule over his creation. He
has been declared high priest of the order of Melchizedek, He is the
true priest that offered the living sacrifice of his sacred body to the
Heavenly Father as the only sacrifice acceptable for our redemption.

This sacrifice was consummated on the cross and has
been perpetuated by Our Lord Christ the King with the establishment of
the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist at the last supper.
As a king rules his kingdom, so Christ the King rules
with supreme authority, (Matthew 28:18) And Jesus came and said to them,
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
John the Baptist came to prepare the way for the
Lord, he announced that the Kingdom of Heaven was near. After the death
of John the Baptist, Jesus began to preach; his first public words
declared the coming of His Kingdom. Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus
began to proclaim, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."

Jesus explained that His kingdom is a kingdom within
our hearts, which allows Christ the King to reign when we repent and
submit to his yoke. Matthew 11:29-30 Take my yoke upon you, and learn
from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for
your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
So Jesus Christ is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords.
Revelation 17:14 they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will
conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with
him are called and chosen and faithful."
