Our health is something we take for granted when we are well. But when things go wrong, perhaps because of our age, or because of an accident or simply because we get sick, it is a great cause for concern.
Most deceases are psychosomatic in other words they are caused by mental factors like worries, stress, even anger and resentments as it is the case with many cancers. Some illnesses may be caused by our carelessness.
We (our minds and souls) live in an organic house, which is the body. The body is subject to aging and eventually has to die; therefore we are responsible for taking good care of our bodies. We have to stay away from smoking, alcohol, drugs and other dangers which are enemies of our health. We need to have a good share of rest and exercise, but many illnesses take place because we neglect our bodies. We overeat, we don't have a balanced diet, we don't have enough rest or exercise and we demand too much from our bodies.
Besides taking medicines for our medical problems, we can also ask God for healing.
Jesus is the Life and the Resurrection, He is the life that we live, He demonstrated His power of healing by curing many who were sick and by resurrecting several dead people. His power is still active, He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
The Lord says:
Proverbs 17:22
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Jeremiah 33:6
Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.
Malachi 4:2
But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings
 I am the life of every soul, I live in you who live in me.
I have come to heal your souls from the wounds of your sins. I have the power to restore life and health when I please. If you want to be healed you must first come to me. Then you must confess your sinfulness since your soul is sick and dies because of sin, if you present your petition with a humble and contrite heart, you will touch the mercy of my heart.
The life of the body is not eternal as the life of the soul; because the body is perishable, it is destined to eventually die and be resurrected again on Judgement day. Do not cling to the lives of your bodies, seek the life of your souls, make sure they shine with my light.
The suffering of the body atones for many sins, therefore do not reject it, place it before me and pray, I may grant healing to you, if not physical at least spiritual.
