Saint Pius X Saint Pius X

Also known as the Pope of the Blessed Sacrament, he was born in a poor family of eight children, his father was a shoe maker.
 
He Studied at Padua and was helped by two parish priests to become a priest. After ordination he was the parish priest in a small town in the Italian mountains, then he was Bishop of Mantua and later became a Cardinal.
 
He was elected Pope in 1903. Issued decrees on early and frequent communion, His teaching was "Love God and live Christian lives".
 
He reorganized the Roman curia and initiated the codification of canon law. This is written in his Will: "I was born poor; I lived poor; I wish to die poor." He is the author of the Catechism of Pius X.
