Saint Therese of Lisieux, " of the child Jesus " Saint Therese of Lisieux, Of the child Jesus

Also known as Therese of the Child Jesus, the Little Flower or the Little Flower of Jesus. She was born in 1873 in Alcon, Normandy, France; she died on  September 30, 1897 at Lisieux, France; of tuberculosis at the age of twenty four.
She was cured from an illness when she was 8 years old, when a statue of the Blessed Virgin smiled at her. She became a Carmelite nun at the age of 15. Her path to God and holiness consisted in "The Little Way," which is love and trust in God even in the smallest acts of faith, hope and love. Many miracles have been attributed to her. She was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1997 by Pope John Paul II.

In her words:

Kneeling before the tabernacle, I can think of only one thing to say to Our Lord:
"My God, you know that I love you" And I feel that my prayer does not weary Jesus; knowing my weakness, He is satisfied with my good will.
